HAWAIIAN Baby Names

Well, it’s come to this…Bruce & Wayde are talking BABIES!

Not that we want to, but because we just didn’t have anything to talk about this week and said…Hey…We hate babies anyways so lets do something we never did and talk about Baby Names, So yeah…We are talking baby names.

In all seriousness…If you plan on having a baby in the future and or about to have one lets not give that child some lame boring name like John…come up with something more original like Koa…There are an endless amount of beautiful Hawaiian names! If on the mainland your child will most likely have the most beautiful and original name in your area or town!

If you want to call your child James, John, Robert, Mary, Jennifer or Patricia you go ahead…why not…everyone else has those name…lol…Why would you want your child to stand out and have an original name like Kai, Leilani, Manoa or Kimeona.

  1. Hey guys just listened to newest show and heard about Wade and Bruce’s health question. Bruce your White Blood cell count will be double or triple to that if normal. If it’s just slightly high then it’s a good sign that you can fight off an infection, many times our immune system is so good you done realize you are sick. Wade I assume you have a high red blood cell count because of that it increases risk of clots that can lead to strokes or heart attacks (MI). The good is that it does take a big increase to really affect the risk of clots, Lance Armstrong and all those cheating cyclist actually will take drugs that increases there red blood cell count so it’s about 50% higher than normal and usually they still don’t have clots. As a former MD and current lecturer in Physiology and Pathology of disease I teach RNs to Pre-Med students and I always tell them that now with the internet people will look up their diseases and freak out about worse case scenarios so it’s up to them to educate first. Well love your show and keep up the good work.
TL,DR: don’t freak out over small changes in lab reports big changes then freak out.

  2. Aloha Bruce and Wade. Long time listener and commented in the past. I always meant to comment but generally get side tracked easily since I listen at work. It is my way of mentally being back home on the islands. Originally from the island of Hawaii. Hilo side. It’s like I get to hear two friends talk story. Even if I don’t agree on Bruce’s politics it is still good fun to hear the debates between you two. Keep up the good work. I will be back Hilo October 23rd and hopefully I can make it to Honolulu also while I am back home. Mahalo.

  3. Hey guys,

I’m a first time listener and I love your show and love how you guys talk about both the good and bad qualities of Hawaii so people receive a realistic view of the islands.

I went to Hawaii for the first time this past June with my parents, brother, and his partner and stayed at Kihei Oasis in Kihei, Maui. We ate at hula bar and grill, mama’s fish house, Fleetwood’s on front street, and more. We experienced the Blue Helicopter Tour and the Feast at Lele, and it was awesome. And we got lots of beach time in and I fell in love with Hawaii, mai tai’s, and Maui brewing company in the process.

This past trip to Hawaii was a trip of firsts for me. I had never been on a jetliner, never ate “real” seafood, and never swam in the ocean and tasted salt water. By the end of the trip I was swimming all day in the beach and eating poke and other foods out of my comfort zone.

I’m a first year teacher in Nebraska and have loads of debt from college, but am not going to let it keep me from going to Hawaii again.

I’m going to go back again and if I go by myself and am in charge of the planning then I hope to book through Aloha Travel with Bruce.

Keep up the great work with the show and hopefully I can donate to your show eventually.

    Mahalo and aloha!

    • Jeff, glad you stepped out of your comfort zone…it’s not easy to do, but Hawaii seems to make it easier for people. Don’t give up on Visiting Hawaii from time to time and pick a different island every time you come…each is different! Keep us posted and mahalo for listening to our bullshit!

  4. Bruce and Wayde,
Please let Marc back on the show. I’ll never again question you guys on how to make up the show. Wayde was correct about my accent. I’ve lived my whole life in southwest Missouri. I would be considered a redneck but for the fact that I like to read. My wife and I have been to Hawaii one time. We spent seven days on Maui and had a wonderful time. We had so many wonderful times that I didn’t want to leave. I have slowly tried to convince her to move there and was making some headway. Then this January we had a little girl with a heart defect that requires very specialize care. This care is only available in limited places here on the mainland. So while even visiting Hawaii isn’t going to happen anytime soon I get my Hawaii fix by listening to you guys. Keep up the great work.

Seriously you guys are a great team keep up the great work. My family and I come over every 2 years and we will finally be back on Friday for 3 whole weeks. Woohoo! Quick questions for next time, I have 3 kids, 8, 6 & 3 years old, can you accommodate them on one of the the jeep tours? And Bruce does your condos fit 2 adults, 3 kids?

  7. Love the show, super entertaining. I would love it if you guys could do a run down on what some of the major neighborhoods are like in Honolulu. Which ones are nice, which ones are sketchy, filled with tourists, etc. Also, tried to throw some business your way by booking a trip w/ Hawaii Aloha Travel, not a great experience. However, I just booked a Jeep tour for next month, requested Wayde. I can’t wait. Keep the shows coming, you guys are great.
